Enterprise Value Leakage™
Find where enterprise value is leaking and stop it.
Executive problem
Expected value can erode while initiatives continue to report progress. Delayed decisions, distorted priorities, weak handoffs, resource contention, rework, and poor adoption consume investment or defer benefits. Leadership may see expenditure and delivery activity without seeing where the authorized business case is losing integrity.
What it does
Traces how intended value moves from strategic choice and investment authorization through governance, portfolio sequencing, capacity, execution, and benefit realization. It identifies where value is diluted, delayed, distorted, or lost; examines the underlying cause; and assigns the decision or intervention needed. A leakage map separates observed evidence from assumptions and prioritizes material exposure.
Why it matters
Schedule completion alone cannot demonstrate business value. Recognizing leakage early allows leaders to correct the operating condition before it becomes an accepted loss. Where evidence permits, exposure can be expressed in financial, time, capacity, or benefit terms. Quantification must distinguish avoidable leakage from deliberate trade-offs and changes in external conditions.
Supports
Supports business-case reviews, investment protection, portfolio recovery, benefits management, and executive intervention. Practical applications include investigating delayed benefits, identifying recurring rework, examining stalled decisions, and prioritizing corrective action. It provides a basis for deciding whether to recover, re-sequence, redesign, or stop work—and for checking whether the intervention protects the intended value.
